Responsibilities

  • Safely instruct class participants through an effective class session
  • Provide quality customer service to all participants and potential attendees, regardless of skill level, appearance, or otherwise
  • Ensure participant safety
  • Communicate effectively with the supervisor through phone, email, or in person
  • Enforce all program policies and procedures as it pertains to the class format development program
  • Enforce all building policies and procedures and assist as needed during emergencies
  • Attend all necessary meetings and trainings
  • Safely instruct effective, creative group fitness practices
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
  • Leadership and supervisory abilities
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm
  • Excellent organizational, and written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of standard practices in specific group fitness class format
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles

Competencies:

 

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency with group fitness knowledge and coaching techniques
  • Proficient with developing all-level class formats
  • Proficiency with providing necessary, clear cues within group format

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

  • Fitness center environment
  • Moderate to loud noise
  • Evening and/or weekend work potential

Physical Demands

  • Standing/demonstrating fitness moves for at least 75% of the class (depends on class format)
  • Bending and stooping
  • Hearing and talking
