CENTERS, LLC is a professional management firm specializing in facility, operation, and program management for higher education. CENTERS' management approach is customized for each client yet retains our uniform quality. Our firm unites site staff with a centralized administrative team, each contributing to the firm's goals and client needs. The CENTERS team is innovative, entrepreneurial, trail-blazing, and ambitious for both CENTERS and our clients. Today, CENTERS provides management services for 14 clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist supervisor with the implementation, evaluation, and day to day operation of Group Fitness, Personal Training, and other fitness programs
  • Assist with the preparation, forecasting and monitoring of income and expense budgets as they relate to the Fitness area
  • Assist with the implementation, evaluation, and operation of the Group Fitness Instructor Training and/or Personal Trainer Prep courses
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of all program supplies
  • Assist with implementing fitness assessment protocols and procedures
  • Instruct three PEL (Physical Activity) courses per each 8 week session
  • Purchase equipment and items as needed for specific programs with supervisors’ approval
  • Serve as instructor or trainer as needed
  • Assist supervisor in interviewing, hiring, training and evaluation of Fitness staff
  • Lead staff in special program coordination, public events, campus-wide programs, etc.
  • Monitor and assist with payroll processing for all staff within area of responsibility
  • Create and implement program policies and procedures within the areas of responsibility
  • Represent the department in the areas of Fitness at on-campus events and outreach opportunities
  • Some evening/weekend work required
     

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Attend all required trainings and retreats
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of special events as assigned
  • Maintain the highest level of proficiency in facility policies and emergency
  • Assist with the All Staff Training in the fall and spring
  • Serve on the Departmental committees as required
  • Prepare regular written communication such as monthly and annual reports and participation
  • Hold regular office hours
     

Qualifications

  • Seeking Master’s degree in the fitness and recreation industry or related field
  • Preferred undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • At least 1-2 years of progressive experience in recreation management
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Fiscal integrity
  • Knowledge of Human resource policies and practices
  • Leadership and supervisory abilities
  • Ability to work as part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm
  • Analytical skills to: identify problems, assess alternatives, render consistent, logical decisions
  • Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles
