CENTERS, LLC is a professional management firm specializing in facility, operation, and program management for higher education. CENTERS' management approach is customized for each client yet retains our uniform quality. Our firm unites site staff with a centralized administrative team, each contributing to the firm's goals and client needs. The CENTERS team is innovative, entrepreneurial, trail-blazing, and ambitious for both CENTERS and our clients. Today, CENTERS provides management services for 14 clients.

Responsibilities

The Coordinator - Membership and Communications serves as the liaison between the Sonnentag Center and prospective and current members. The coordinator will lead the communication efforts for the center to accomplish the revenue and usage goals of the client. They will process membership paperwork, actively recruit and retain members, coordinate communication and sponsorships, and collaborate with on-campus partners.

 

This position will work on-site at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Sonnentag Center, a major athletic, recreation, and event center, set to open summer of 2024. The new Sonnentag Center will serve as a venue for university and community events, concerts, and home to Eau Claire Men’s and Women’s Athletics.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage department advertising and outreach operations and secure sponsorships; process all department marketing requests
  • Manage facility marketing systems – digital advertising screens and website
  • Provide leadership and management of the merchandise store and member services desk
  • Lead adoption and utilization of member management and point of sale software; Process and audit member services paperwork
  • Develop and execute a new member recruitment marketing plan and member retention program
  • Collaborate with operation staff to meet target participation numbers
  • Provide support to special events and the box office as needed; provide excellent customer service to all guests and facility members
  • Responsible for the preparation, forecasting, and monitoring of income and expense budgets as it relates to areas of responsibility
  • Prepares and delivers required and requested reports and data to the client and CENTERS central office
  • Responsible for ensuring areas of responsibility stay in line with current trends
  • Recommends policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility

Staff Supervision

  • Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and provide direction for part-time marketing and membership staff
  • Responsible for approving timecards and preparing necessary documents/reports in preparation for payroll

Site Specific:

  • Coordinate department involvement in student recruitment events
  • Work with UWEC Public Relations and Marketing and Communications
  • Collaborate with UWEC on special events

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, advertising (or similar) required or 4 or more years of work experience
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience
  • Demonstrated experience with graphic design, social media management, web design via content management system, photography, videography, or member management software

  • Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events
  • Evening/Weekend work responsibility as required

Physical Demands

  • Sitting at desk or table for at least 50% of the work day
  • Working in an events environment must be able to traverse throughout buildings and campus
  • Regularly ascending/descending building levels and occasionally ladders or stools
  • Must be able to lift, move and set up items weighing as much as 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to discuss, converse with, and exchange accurate information with event patrons, staff, stakeholders, etc.
