Overview

CENTERS is a management company that specializes in campus recreation. We partner with universities to manage their departments, facilities, finances, and deliver exceptional customer service. Since 1998, Centers remains the first and only mission centric organization committed to student development and departmental excellence on behalf of its clients. Centers is currently operating campus recreation centers at ten universities within the United States.

 

The Health and Recreation Center (Building M) is a 135,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility located on the campus of Harper College in Palatine, Illinois and is currently under CENTERS management. The Health and Recreation Center offers a four court fieldhouse, suspended jogging track, aquatics center, fitness studios, cardio/strength areas and numerous programs, services, intramural sport activities and special events.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Greet all members and guests that enter the facility
  • Assist and conduct facility tours to members, guests, and prospective members
  • Be fully knowledgeable on the programs and services held and offered in Building M
  • Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of towels at the Welcome Desk
  • Process sales and inventory of Pro Shop items in Point of Sale software
  • Process all aspects of facility memberships, locker rentals, programs and services in computer management software
  • Address and solve eligibility issues of members and guests
  • Provide patrons and prospective members with accurate facility information
  • Ensure the proper identification is being used to access the facility
  • Correctly input all member and guest information into database
  • Ensure that up-to-date and accurate information is being provided to members and guests
  • Handle cash, credit cards, and checks with care and accuracy
  • Answer, return, transfer phone calls at the Welcome Desk
  • Ensure Welcome Desk workspace is clean and well-maintained
  • Represent the Department of Campus Recreation in a professional manner
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to enforce policies and resolve conflicts
  • Basic cash handling and computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and handle several tasks at once with frequent interruptions
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certifications required
