    Responsibilities

    Facility Management:

    • Responsible for daily cleaning and organization of the Recreation Center.
    • Responsible for upkeep, cleanliness and disinfecting of the locker rooms, bathrooms and showers.
    • Restock toilet paper, paper towels, and shower soap within the Recreation Center.
    • Daily maintenance of all carpet, wooden floors and the synthetic surfaces.
    • Assist other Facilities Services Technician in Quality Control inspections.
    • Assist other Facilities Services Technician with continuously seeking to improve operational efficiency.
    • Operate in a fast-paced environment.
    • Foster exceptional communication both internally and externally.
    • Provide some supervision of part time Maintenance Assistants.
    • Respond to emergency calls.
    • Assist with routine maintenance of building systems and equipment.
    • Participate in Quality Control inspections.
    • Continuously seek to improve operational efficiency.
    • Operate in a fast-paced environment.
    • Foster exceptional communication both internally and externally.

    Recruitment/Staff Development:

    • Provide some supervision of part time Maintenance Assistants.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Attend office, staff and department meetings as needed.
    • Actively participate in professional development programs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma with some college or vocational schooling a plus
    • General mechanical aptitude.
    • Familiarity with safe operation of hand tools.
    • Willingness and ability to take direction.
    • High level of organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
    • Excellent oral communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail while striving to perform high quality workmanship
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
    • Some computer literacy and ability to communicate via email.
    • Professional appearance and positive attitude a must 
    • Position will be based in Huntington, WV with less than 30 minute emergency response time to the facility expected.

    Technical Competencies

    • Familiarity with safe operation of hand tools.
    • Familiarity with safe operation of custodial equipment.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    Work Environment

    • Combination of office environment, fitness center environment, and a variety of mechanical spaces.
    • Moderate to loud noise.
    • Occasional evening or weekend work.                            

    Physical Demands

    • Sitting at desk or table for at least 10% of the work day.
    • Standing or walking for at least 90% of the work day.
    • Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement.
    • Operation of various hand and power tools.
    • Operation of custodial equipment. 
    • Bending, stooping.
    • Hand eye coordination.
