    Position Description:

    The Fitness and Wellness Assistant II is responsible for the oversight and management of the group fitness program as it relates to metrics, inventory, record keeping of staff credentials, and program promotion. Responsibilities include serving on the student risk management committee, communicating with patrons and clients, promoting and implementing special events, and working within the fitness and wellness office team.  The FITW Assistant II will work up to 10 hours per week.


    Core Responsibilities:

    • Track and report monthly group fitness class and premium program statistics.
    • Record daily group fitness, F45, and Pink Gloves Boxing attendance statistics.
    • Assist in payroll editing for the group fitness staff.
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of free wellness activities and events.
    • Curate photos, videos, and other digital content from the various programs and services offered for use on social media platforms.
    • Coordinate personal training and massage therapy services between the provider and the client.
    • Keep record of client contacts and pairings with providers.
    • Keep record and inventory of the fitness assessment and massage therapy rooms.
    • Promote and market the various fitness and wellness programs, services, and events.
    • Maintain organization of six different group fitness studios.
    • Keep record and inventory of over two hundred pieces of fitness equipment.
    • Audit Fitness and Wellness staff records for keeping certifications on file and up to date.
    • Serve on and be an active member of the Student Risk Management Committee.
    • Assist with the creation of Fitness and Wellness risk management activities, presentations, and assessments.
    • Collaborate with Fitness and Wellness Supervisor, Graduate Supervisor, and Assistant Director to ensure that programs are up to date.
    • Assist with fitness and wellness programming as needed.
    • Actively participate in Fitness and Wellness meetings.


    Minimum Requirements:

    • Current Cleveland State University undergraduate or graduate student
    • Have completed one semester of college credits towards earning a Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
    • Ability to work independently and as a part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues.
    • Ability to thrive in an environment that values entrepreneurial spirit, high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
    • Basic computer and Excel competency.


    Preferred Requirements:

    • Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or ability to obtain 30 days after employment.
    • Experience in the fitness, wellness or related field.
