Centers is currently operating campus recreation centers at ten universities within the United States.


    The Coordinator of Fitness & Wellness is responsible for the oversight and management of fitness and program areas as they relate to staff management and program scheduling. This position will manage personal training, group fitness classes and wellness programming. 


    Core Responsibilities:

    • Directly supervise Fitness and Wellness Graduate Assistant
    • Recruit, hire, train, schedule and actively mentor all fitness instructors and personal trainers
    • Implement fitness programming and special events outside of UFit and F45 classes (i.e. HealthyU, etc.)
    • Schedule fitness and personal training certifications and workshops through national organizations
    • Provide managerial and leadership experiences in program operations and create and promote professional development opportunities
    • Coordinate the purchasing, inventory and maintenance of fitness and wellness equipment as needed
    • Assist with development and execution of fitness customized programming
    • Supervise fitness intern(s) as associated with the Kinesiology department

    Administrative Responsibilities: 

    • Responsible for the operating, preparation, forecasting and monitoring of income and expense budgets as it relates to the fitness area
    • Develop and revise administrative policies and procedures within the areas of responsibility
    • Assess effectiveness and satisfaction of programs and services offered
    • Prepare regular written communication such as monthly and annual reports, financial and participation reports, and equipment inventory reports as needed
    • Create, encourage and support professional development opportunities for staff, including professional association involvement, training programs and individual mentoring
    • Build strong partnerships on campus and with vendors
    • Provide direction and oversight in accordance with the mission and goals of the department

    Site Specific Responsibilities:

    • Manage UFit classes, F45 classes and personal training
    • Schedule and coordinate all UFit and F45 classes
    • Teach fitness classes as needed
    • Evening and weekend responsibility as required
    • Work within a non-smoking environment
    • Other duties as assigned


    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
    • At least two years of programming experience preferred
    • Experience working in a collegiate/community recreation environment, strong communication and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated experience within health and wellness
    • Knowledge of standard practices and demonstrated experience in recreational sports
    • Leadership and supervisory abilities
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures
    • Fiscal integrity

    • Ability to write concise, logical reports
    • Ability to work independently
