Centers is currently operating campus recreation centers at ten universities within the United States.

    The Health and Recreation Center at Harper College is a state-of-the-art facility in Palatine, Illinois, currently under CENTERS management. The newly renovated 135,000 square foot state of the art facility is slated to open in August 2018 and offers a four court fieldhouse, suspended jogging track, aquatics center, fitness studios, cardio/strength areas and numerous programs, services, intramural sport activities and special events.



    • Daily supervision of the facility and all operations
    • Communicate and troubleshoot patron issues
    • Enforce all facility policies and procedures
    • Ensure cleanliness and safety of Building M
    • Coordinate and communicate with Campus Facilities, Campus Police, Athletics, Academics, Custodial Staff, Building M Tenants and other HRC units
    • Strong leadership, communication and conflict resolutions abilities 
    • Lead up to 10 student employees during shift
    • Acquire, increase and maintain knowledge of all facility areas and equipment
    • Coordinate laundry with building staff
    • Respond to any incidents/accidents, follow the emergency action plan and complete required documentation
    • Represent the Department of Campus Recreation in a positive light at all times
    • Attend all staff trainings and meetings
    • Other duties as assigned by management




    Minimum Requirements:

    • Maintain current CPR/AED & first aid certification (certification provided by HRC)
    • Strong interpersonal communication, decision making and conflict resolution skills
    • Comfortable responding to emergencies & leading risk management plan
    • Leadership and supervisory abilities
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
    • Outstanding customer service

    Preferred Skills:

    • Some experience in a leadership position supervising other employees
    • Experience in fitness/athletic setting
    • Professional aspirations in management and leadership
