Centers is currently operating campus recreation centers at ten universities/colleges within the United States.


    Under the direction of the Assistant Director - Member & Guest Services, the Graduate Supervisor of Member & Guest Services has the responsibility for the operation of the Customer Service Desk (20 hours) with the ability to work an additional 8 hours throughout the department.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Assistant Director - Member & Guest Services with the oversight, training, and supervision of staff hiring, scheduling, supervision
    • Conduct all part-time Customer Service Representative staff meetings with Assistant Director - Member & Guest Services
    • Create, develop, and enforce administrative policies and procedures as it relates to Member & Guest Services
    • Responsible for the operation of the customer service desk
    • Provide leadership in a supervisory role by hiring, training, staffing, developing, and evaluating the undergraduate membership and guest services staff 
    • Organize and implement strategies to manage CSI Software to ease overall customer service operation
    • Purchase and inventory all products for distribution through equipment issue 
    • Serve on risk management committee and special events committee
    • Assist with updating payroll for part-time staff members as well as the monthly report
    • Creates and manages part-time staff schedules for the Customer Service Representatives
    • Attend all staff and committee meetings as assigned

    Secondary Responsibilities:

    • Attend staff meetings and trainings hosted by the Campus Recreation Services department 
    • Become an American Red Cross instructor to teach both community and staff classes
    • Serve as an active member of the Risk Management, Special Events, and Student Risk Management Committees
    • Program/Plan one special event each academic year
    • Serve on Risk Management Sub Committee as assigned
    • Other duties as required


    • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration, Exercise Science or Higher Education or closely related field
    • Acceptance into the College of Graduate Studies at Cleveland State University
    • Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or ability to obtain prior to the start of employment
    • One year of undergraduate experience in campus recreation and knowledge of basic practices in recreational sports
    • Leadership and supervisory abilities of undergraduate students and interns
    • Ability to work independently and as a part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues
    • Ability to thrive in an environment that values entrepreneurial spirit, high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles
