Centers is currently operating campus recreation centers at eight universities within the United States.

     

    The Health, Fitness & Recreation Center at Moraine Valley Community College opened in March of 2014. This 115,000 square foot fitness center consists of exercise studios including Spin/Cycling, Dance and Ballet, Cardio and Kick Boxing, and Mind/Body, 1/8 mile indoor running track, a Cyclone Center, including 3-court field house with basketball, volleyball, and badminton; 9000 sqaure foot KidRec youth programming space; 4 lap lane aquatic center, expansive locker rooms each with a steam room, Tropical Smoothie Café, The HFRC Pro Shop, and open lobby spaces with soft seating.

     

    The Camp Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the camp. They will assist with the development of quality programs in all camp areas. The Coordinator is responsible for various administrative tasks, which may include helping shape policies, ordering supplies, coordinating schedules, and completing all necessary reports.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Camp Director in overseeing the daily activities, general camp operations, and programs to ensure a quality camp.
    • Assist with hiring and training camp staff.
    • Develop, organize and implement training program including weekly staff meetings.
    • Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the camp.
    • Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and safe.
    • Promote theme days or group traditions to help campers and staff feel united as a group and add enjoyment to the camp.
    • Develop and supervise organized activities, games, sports, and field trip activities.
    • Ensure the maintenance of accurate program and administrative records.
    • Set and supervise office procedures, opening-and closing-day procedures for staff and campers.
    • Supervise the ordering of food, supplies, and equipment, and arrange for proper distribution.
    • Be a leader in parent communication and address parent concerns in a timely manner.
    • Supervise, organize, and document camp schedule, including: attendance, activity rotations, check-in, and release of campers.

    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Strong interpersonal communication, time management, and conflict resolution skills
    • Willingness and ability to enforce policies and resolve conflicts
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, as necessary
    • Completion of First Aid, CPR, and AED training, as required
    • Basic computer competency.
    • Positive Interaction with youth.
    • Position Interaction with patrons, faculty, and staff.

    Hours and Length of Service:

    • The Camp Program Coordinator has an anticipated start date in Mid-March
    • From mid-March until end of May, hours will be administrative and vary from 5-15 a week based on need  
    • June 4 - August 10, hours will be 30-35 per week M-F between the hours of 7am-6pm
