About Social Media & Web Specialist:

Under the direction of the Sr. Asst. Director of Marketing and Membership, the Social Media & Web Specialist will take a leading role in the development, creation and implementation of departmental social media marketing campaigns for all program areas and the facility/department itself. The Social Media & Web Specialist will also assist with SEO (search engine optimization), periodic web updates and analysis of social media and web metrics. In addition, the Social Media & Web Specialist will also assist in marketing support and outreach activities as necessary, such as photography, video work, tabling, and special event support. The Social Media & Web Specialist may also provide limited support to operations related to the Pro Shop.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development and creation of multi-platform social media marketing campaigns for program areas, special events and the department.
  • Coordination and implementation (including deployment) of social media marketing campaigns across multiple social media outlets, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Continuous development and management of social media platforms to build the Rec Center’s social media and online presence.
  • Regular Search engine optimization (SEO) efforts.
  • Analysis of website and social media metrics to develop more effective marketing efforts.
  • Website updates as needed
  • Project management and facilitation
  • Collaborate with other Marketing staff, as well as other department staff effectively to increase efficiencies.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in marketing support and outreach activities as necessary, such as photography, video work, tabling, and special event support.
  • Assist in marketing presentations as needed.
  • Provide limited support to operations related to the Pro Shop as needed.
  • Evening/weekend work responsibilities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned pertaining to the functions of the Marketing department.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience and skill in web design, marketing (with social media), writing, advertising, and/or other related experience.
  • Experience with various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Intermediate competence with HTML
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (will provide)
  • Open, effective and all-around exemplary communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and tools including, but not limited to, computer software, design and marketing concepts (basic to advanced), and other marketing-related job skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be an effective Marketing team member through effective collaboration, teamwork and support. 
  • 10-20 hours/week
