Responsibilities

Recreation Attendants are responsible for the cleanliness of the facility from early morning to late at night. Ensuring all fitness and weight equipment is clean and operational.  Also responsible for enforcing all department policies to keep members safe and equipment operational.  Provide outstanding customer service to all members and guests. Act as a first responder to all incidents and emergencies.

 

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Ensure cleanliness of entire facility
  • Monitor and maintain trash throughout the facility
  • Ensure that all fitness and weight equipment is clean and operational
  • Continually monitor and maintain disinfectant sprays on fitness machines
  • Ensure that all restroom facilities are sanitary and presentable
  • Continually monitor all fitness areas
  • Enforce policies and procedures throughout the facility
  • Assist the Facility Manager/Professional Staff with tasks as requested
  • Assist patrons with concerns, questions and incidents/accidents
  • Understand and demonstrate competencies in department Emergency Action Plan
  • Assist with completing facility laundry as needed throughout the day
  • Represent Campus Recreation Services at all times
  • Ensure walkways are clear and open
  • Assist participants with spotting and other customer service concerns
  • Ensure that facility space (mirrors, floors, windows, wall, etc.) are clean
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Student degree at Cleveland State University
  • Leadership and supervisory abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles
